My name is Peter "TahitiPetey" Ortmann, Founder and President of the TahitiPetey® Foundation, a private family funded non-profit organization based in British Columbia, Canada.

My wife, Corrin, and I have gone through many unbelievable life challenges the past eight years as we worked tirelessly to launch and fund our Foundation and many programs. Despite the challenges we remain determined to build a powerful new voice for our oceans.

Over the past several years we have tested many unique programs, creative ideas and concepts to help drive awareness of the ocean issues. But today, we have grown disgusted about how many people simply do not care about our oceans, our marine life or the impact of their daily use of plastic products that are filling them.

In 2010, the Foundation, has restructured once more to focus on just three (3) signature projects that we feel our Digital Activists, the members of our social network the StarFish Organization will not only support, but help us promote long-term among friends and associates.

One of our most important programs is our Clear Blue OCEANS initiative, designed to increase awareness of the need to change the way we all view and use convenience-based plastic food and beverage containers and plastic bags.

Together, we will educate people everywhere that the plastic products we all use daily reach all oceans worldwide and kill millions of fishes and marine life annually. We will spread the truth about plastic waste and Climate Change impact, sea rise, and the over-fishing of our largest natural food source - the oceans. 

Together, we will also increases awareness of those issues outlined in the video below featuring Dr. Sylvia Earle, a well-respected marine scientist as she shares some truly unbelievable facts you need to know! I encourage you to watch and listen to it now.

As Ms. Earle says in the video, "NO Blue, No Green" and we agree. It is up to us to collectively make the word BLUE as powerful and important as the word Green is today. Not just through eco-statements and words, but by sharing eco-friendly businesses, products and services to allow us all to live a more sustainable lifestyle by example.

Our second project will be to build AngelFish International, a new Island Disaster Relief & Humanitarian Aid Organization to help impacted areas within the Caribbean and Pacific Rim Region after major weather-related or natural disasters occur, such as major hurricanes, and they will.

Regardless of whether or not you believe in Climate Change, it is real and will change much more than our weather patterns and ocean currents; it will cause at the very least substantial damage to the world's coastlines, fisheries, coral reefs and marine life. It will hit remote islands the hardest, and we plan to prepare and stand ready to assist them when it does.

Last, but certainly not least, is our third and very personal project called Marissa's Reef For Heavenly Helpers, a living aquatic memorial to honor my Granddaughter Marissa Reyes, who was suddenly washed to her death at the age of seven in a freak flash flood in August 2005, which forever changed me and my family.

Our web site and social site has more on all of these programs and projects, which are funded mainly by our monthly paying StarFish members, who also earn SandDollar$, our social currency, for watching videos online and than redeem them later for free travel.  

Together, we will build a social organization that puts its money where its mouth is, and provide viable solutions that can make a difference in our lives and for the future of our planet. Along the way, we will share hundreds of links to useful web sites, news articles, publications and eco-products.

We can no longer keep our heads in the sand and ignore our oceans, their importance or pending Climate Change impact on our lives . We MUST become more aware and address the problems we face.
